... been busy with all sorts of things...

... been playing with Facebook application programming, and over the course of an afternoon managed to get a functional aspx iFrame page up and running. I'm thinking about what to do with it; something appropriate to facebook... I'll come up with something ;)

... I've got a fresh C# script written that's reading in an xls file to a datagridview, breaking down the contents, adding some new info, writing it back into a grid and exporting it as a csv file. Whew! the upshot is I'm saving my employer ( I'm the Sys Admin at the Doan Family of Dealerships in Rochester NY ) a couple of grand in outside development costs and about a month in time. Nice!

... Do you have public-facing computers in your company? Most of them are likely a mess of icons, different wallpapers... not the best face for your business to present. I found an easy to use , attractive way to unify their look. Check out 'Rainmeter'. And it's free! With a little work, you can easily create a strikingly professional look that will make your company PC's really present the impression you want them to.

 ... In beta: I found a nice toolset that allows for quick, reasonably painless iPhone app development and publishing that doesn't cost and arm and an leg. I've got a prototype up and running now and look to finish and publish it within a few weeks. If it works out as expected, you'll be able to get your company iPhone app published and available on the Apple Store for $500ish. Talk about savings! Will keep you posted...
